7 Weeks & 3 Days

This is not a significant time marker by any means. However, I thought I should provide a quick update on my move to Santa Cruz from DC. I miss all my friends and family and am looking forward to going home in June. I have a lot left to do with the apartment. Fortunately, my brother was here for a week helping me get settled. I’m worried that everything will be in the exact same place by his next visit. I still need to purchase a few items (vacuum cleaner, couch, bookshelf). Work has been very busy which I like, but I also feel like I can never catch up. I love going to work and we are beginning to think like a group and figure out how to do what we do better.

This actually was going to be another post about a Violin player in DC. However, I came across this article on The Washington Post site that I had to share.

Peeps always remind me of home. I remember how special it was when it was “Easter Season” and Peeps would be in the store. I always remember no matter what we had enough money to buy some yellow peeps each season. This will be one of my first Easter’s not being at home with my family. I miss them all, but also know that I’m doing the right thing. I still can’t believe I’m actually living out here in CA. It seems like an extended business trip.

It was great to see Bill in San Francisco last weekend. I think we both wanted to go out after dinner, but also were just waiting for the other one to say that we didn’t have to go out. For some reason we were both tired. On the way back from SF I took the “scenic route”. This meant driving down Route 1 and stopping at all the little beachy spots and stopping in Half Moon Bay to walk around the little shops.
